November...

...and a new President elect! I was saddened that McCain did'nt make it, but I thank God for the Constitution and the many born-again Christians in the USA. Really we need revival that would spread throughout the World.
1.Usual reading,but extra time with business/economy.
2.I found out 2 wks ago that Pillsbury Baptist Bible College will be closing after 50 years as a Christian college.I spent 3 years of my life there! What a shame and pity.
I hope to visit one more time.
3.Spending time with Dad.Last week on my day off I took him to a nice Chinese buffet[this one they did'nt add so much oilto the food!].Then we took a walk together in the old neighborhood in New Hope.

Must close.I just want to say that God is so good and faithful.Oh, that I would love Him more each day He gives me!

6.Outside Twin Falls,ID my R rear tire disintegrated! Within just min a "Good Samaritan" pulls up and helps me change the tire and had me follow him to the town to get a new one.Thank God! I pray for this young man, Mike, and pray especially he will be saved.
7.Pallisades Reservoir was beautiful.Entering WYO I stopped at Jackson and also viewed the Tetons. Expensive motel in Riverton and then on to South Dakota.Spent 2 days at Ellesworth AFB,cashed a cheque at the PX,went to church and then on to Minn.Stopped at Wall Drug on the way and enjoyed it. SD much greener and more water! Finally Minn by dusk[Oct2].Spent nite in Worthington then Fri,Oct.3 a stop in Owatonna to see PBBC. Working Weekend

I'm OK[secure in the Lord!].I long for more Christian fulfillment and fellowship.
At times it's lonely, but when I focus on God and His Word,I'm much better.

1.Last weekend went well.I drove to the Steinbeck museum in downtown Salinas and spent 5 hrs there.Fascinating!Really excellent museum.
2.Drove to Watsonville to meet Jim and Pat Clayton.Great reunion! We had a nice time together with fond memories of dear Lorene.
3.Early Sun a.m. I walked along the beach at Moss Landing. It was cool/cloudy w/ the breakers rolling in.Quite a contrast from my secret base and "hidden valley!" I had some hot coffee before. The seagulls sang their mournful cries and the sealions had their way of saying things too! A foghorn on a jetty sounded off every min.
I had a blessed time at church and was warmly welcomed.
4.This week I sent in the article entitled,"Roberta McCain and I." Well I hope it will be read and perhaps help in a small way for John McCain to get elected.
5.My Sgt and I went to Camp Roberts and got to know each other more along the way.Sadly, his home is breaking.I tried to be an encouragement.More later.
6.This week I gave out a number of Sgt Gabriel DeRoo's testimony. It was 2 yrs ago that he was killed this month.I called his mother and emailed his father-in-law.
7.Yesterday there was a nice "Military Expo" in the base gym.
8.Missing some key people[including Lucille Ball].
9.Pastor Campbell and his wife went to Chetek,WI for the Straitgate Family Camp.I was so happy for them! He preached an excellent msg on "following Christ" and being faithful.this really encouraged everyone.Pastors Magnuson&Campbell were also able to connect, fellowship and get to know each other. That's good!!!
10.Staying away from TV except for the Olympics.

Thank you dear Lord for these days!

Weekend!

Another busy week has concluded.
It's good to be busy;but stressful when trying not to make any mistakes.I realize I like to dream and meditate.I have to be focused and concentrate.
1.Last weekend I revisted Camp Roberts and really enjoyed myself on that hot Sat.I wandered around the old, unused barracks[that looked like an old Western ghost town!].I had a nice time praying and meditating.Across the huge parade ground I saw several cars and people and found out it was a "Sea Cadet" graduation.I went over and met several, congradulating them.I can't write details but the Lord blessed! later I went back to the base museum.I watched some WWII videos, read and had a nice time.Later,I met the base chaplain[SDA].
2.Drove south to Paso Robles for the CA Mid-State Fair.Had a great time! Really nice to see families enjoying themselves.
3.Sunday,was blessed with good services at FBC in Atascadero.Met many nice, friendly people who were very welcoming.
This past week was fairly normal.Learning alot. I called Dad several times and try to ask him medical questions[I believe that encourages him and keeps his mind sharp].
Usual heavy reading.Finished a book on the French Foreign Legion[Tres interrasante et magnifique!].

Note: 20 years ago on this date I was in PhaseI of OCS.

Reflections of July 2008

It's August but I was so busy that I did'nt enter much.
1.NVBC/Golden State in Santa Clara on the July4 weekend was very nice and encouraging.I drove along the coast on CA1 to Marina stopping at cliff overlooking a beautiful beach along the way.I enjoyed the pm service at Central CoastBC and especially seeing the Jeff Greeson family.Jeff actually gave the msg[re:not forsaking the Lord or His service].
2.Studied for the concentrated EMS course in SLO[south of here 100 mi].I left on Thurs,July10.I stopped at Camp___ on the way to visit their nice base museum.Really enjoyed it!Displays on WWII were great.I like the wide open area on that base as well.I reported to my class[not far from Cal Poly].Many WWII bldgs.High hills or small mtns in the area[naturally dry ranch land].
3.Comments on the course: very memorable! The medical info I received I was able to grasp much better with understanding. My GPA was only about 73% but most of the class was about that mark as well.
A.Must remember the study walks on base and the military displays.
B.Classmates and Instructors very interesting[Hispanic, black,Asian,Jewish heritages].I liked Bldg1402 and it was conducive to learning. The dvds of the 70's program,"Emergency!" were helpful.
C.ER on Fri nite had many different cases.I wrote many notes. One man had his C4 fractured! It must not have been bad as the Dr said he should recover.
Sat.reported to a beautiful red brick modern Fire Station to spend all day for ambulance ride alongs.I waited in the upstairs lounge,"ready room" and got to know the fire-fighters.They were very friendly and shared alot of info. Some had been battling the CA wild-fires.I shared some ideas with them. It was good to be around real men.
Had many amb runs with many kinds of cases, but none life threatening. The 2 young paramedics were both from CA,nice and professional.
D.July27--Graduation! Drove back and attended a beautiful,Spanish style church in Atascadero.I was really, really mentally exhausted.I even had to ask the pastor for some asperin.
4.Back to FHL!Arrived about 2100.Visited w/ my room-mate Matt,fell asleep after prayers.
5.Monday routine started again! Now I find out my web&diary have been discovered and carefully scrutinized! Code names "Don Wong"and "Lucille Ball" are on my trail! I'll have to ride the range alittle more carefully.
6.Very few visits w/ my sons.I call my Dad regularly.I also hope to keep stimulating Dad's mind.
7.Made some medical runs both north and south this week with some interesting adventures and meeting people. A large base on the coast kept us quite awhile for medical and then a disaster exercise.I visited w/ some nice people[even met 2 RAF young lads from UK! I told them my Dad was a WWII bomber pilot stationed north of London].
Last nite was a going away party for Nancy [from Indiana near Camp Atterbury].There was good and interesting food[deer, wild pig,elk meat].I was reminded of Psa39:5 & Eccl.1 : there is so much vanity in the World.
With joy I can also write that I have made some important calls/contacts re:Matt.10:32 and Mk.16:15.I long to do more!
Well, this weekend I be travelling; may God prosper my journeys.
